❄️ As winter sets in, we're launching a new initiative:
We are raising funds to purchase Backpack Beds for people sleeping rough or staying in temporary shelters. These beds provide warmth, weather protection, and a little dignity to those who have nowhere safe to rest.
💬 A Reality Many Don’t See:
Most people experiencing homelessness are not drug addicts — this is one of the most damaging and unfair myths out there.
The number one cause of homelessness in Sydney is rental affordability stress. With rents skyrocketing, vacancy rates at record lows, and too little social housing available, even full-time workers can find themselves without a roof.
Others are fleeing domestic violence, living with mental health challenges, or reeling from unexpected life events like job loss or serious illness. Many are hidden from view — sleeping in cars, on couches, or roughing it in parks and public spaces.
